FestOS is an GPLv3 open-source CMS that provides you with the tools you need to manage an arts & crafts festival via your web site. With FestOS, you can accept artist applications online rather than through traditional paper-based methods. FestOS enables online payments via PayPal and Authorize.net credit card processing. Artists can upload digital photos to eliminate the need for slides and prints. Email functions eliminate the expense of postal mailings. With FestOS, you can publish artist listings to your web site with the click of a button. FestOS includes a built in web page editor, contact list manager, support for Google Maps, and much more.

FestOS will run on a Windows or Linux web server running the IIS or Apache web server with PHP 5 and MySQL. The FestOS program files require less than 10 MB disk space and 1 MB database space. However, actual disk and database usage depends on the volume of artist applications you receive and retain.

 Why Another Content Management System?

There is no shortage of available software packages to manage web sites. There are numerous, well-established content management systems available commercially and as open source software. Many of the available systems offer excellent support, mature development platforms, large developer and user communities and in some cases thousands of available third-party add-ons to meet almost every customization need.

What there is a shortage of is well-written, easy-to-use lightweight content management systems for small web sites. The limited options available to small web site owners often force the web site owner to choose a system that has far more features and far more complexity than are needed.

What Is A Small Web Site?

We define a small web site as one which has fewer than 3 site managers - very often just 1 - and one which is comprised of fewer than 100 pages, and perhaps two or three page layouts or templates.
